What is vM2M and how does it work?

vM2M means Voice and Data and enables System Integrators the ability to provide their customers connectivity for a wide range of industries and applications that include vehicle tracking, asset monitoring, telemetry, Point of Sale, ticketing and much more. Our M2M data SIM cards are compatible with all common applications for these types of SIM cards.

What is a SIM?

The definition of a SIM is Subscriber Identity Module and removable M2M data SIM cards securely stores the service subscriber key (IMSI) used to identify a subscriber on mobile telephony devices such as mobile computers, tablets and smart phones.

What is an APN?

An APN is an Access Point Name such as GPRS/3G/HSDPA/HSUPA where a mobile device can be connected to an internal network. In order for a connection to be made, a set of settings are used within the mobile device.

What is a Public APN?

Each network provider has a public APN. When M2M data SIM cards are enabled for data, ie 3G, GPRS, etc, the public APN is added by default and opened, allowing everyone to use.

What is a Private APN?

A Private APN allows the customer direct access to their Local Area Network which will specify certain parameters such as the private address space allocated to the mobile devices and server attributes for user authentication. The customer will also have the ability to access the Internet.
